Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability that affects a significant portion of individuals in the United States and worldwide. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2010), one out of sixty-eight children in the United States have been identified with ASD. Correspondingly, these rates have been reported along all ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic lines. Further, ASD is five times more common among males (1 in 42) when compared to females (1 in 189).
Opportunity Networks provides innovative programming based off the individual needs of those diagnosed with ASD. Opportunity Networks staff work as a team to build a program that addresses the social, behavioral, and communication goals so our program participants can increase their level of independence.
